On top of the mezzanine

The options of flooring for the mezzanine are chipboard, plywood or steel grating. All are manufactured according the standard EN-standards.

The chipboard is delivered in P6 quality and optionally provided with antiskid grey surface. Alternatively steel grating is applied, according to the point load capacity wished for and in conformity with safety regulations. A special application is using dovetail-shaped sheet steel in combination with concrete.

John Scott Works also supplies fire and water resistant plates and a sandwich-package of dovetail-shaped sheet steel with chipboard which has a much higher point load capability.

General Product info

Mezzanines are intermediate floors (or floor) in a building that is open to the floor below. It is usually placed halfway up the wall on a floor which has a ceiling at least twice as high as a floor with minimum height. Mezzanines usually don’t count as one of the floors in a building, and usually does not count in determining maximum floor space either.

Mezzanine floors help to make a high-ceilinged space feel more personal, and can create additional floor space. They, however, may have lower-than-normal ceilings due to their location. The term "mezzanine" does not imply a function, as mezzanines can be used for a wide array of purposes in warehouses, industrial applications and public spaces as well. These days, they are also used often in Modern architecture!

A multi-layered mezzanine floor

If you think that you haven't got enough space with one layer of mezzanine, we can also deliver mezzanine floors with multiple layers, up until three levels. This means that your warehouse, shop or storage will not just have one floor level (the ground floor) but up until four levels (ground floor, first mezzanine floor, second layer of mezzanine and maybe even a third layer of mezzanine).

If you want to have a multi-layered mezzanine floor, you can triple - or even quadruple - your floor area. But this also means that the costs of your mezzanine floor will go up. In order to have multiple mezzanine floors, up until 4 layers, your building has to be at least 10 metres high. Ask us about the possibilities or estimate your costs with our cost calculator
